We Are Likewise homepage screen shot

The coolest car accessories?

Have we found the world’s coolest car accessory business? Maybe.

Likewise make shifters, steering wheels, drift buttons and other things to make your car stand out from the crowd. Everything is expertly made, beautifully presented and cheekily named. For example their stout, globular shift knob is called the Nad, naturally!

Something else that makes this brand stand out is their exceptional Shopify online store that allows you to build your own accessories. The level of customisation options is incredible and everything is done with Likewise’s trademark cheekiness. The site was built by our old friends and Brisbane Shopify gurus BA Creative – great work guys.

Check them out at WEARELIKEWISE.COM, but be careful, you’ll end up with custom aluminium gear knob with a pink knurled ring and a poop emoji!

mulo di prova

Cool clothes and a cute little mule. What’s not to love

MULO or Mulo di Prova to give it is full name is a new fashion brand with a focus on old cars. Their tagline is Drive Old – Look Good, which says it all really.

Mulo di Prova means test mule in Italian. it is the term given to a car that is being developed and evaluated – which kind of sums up running and old car: your forevert developing/fixing/cursing but you love it really.

MULO’s mascot a cute little mule who sometimes waves a checkered flag and sometimes drives and 60’s style grand prix car. He is quite the chap.

A rather natty 1967 Alfa Giulia GT Veloce is featured in some of the product shots, which does absolutely no harm at all in our book. Check it out here MULO.com.au

Web Design In Brisbane

What a tangled web we weave

I very much doubt that Sir Walter Scott had the internet in mind when he coined that immortal phrase. But here we are weaving a web of links.

The latest link that I want to share on Blacksteelies is Web Design In Brisbane a website that is designed to provide links to business related to the web design industry in Brisbane, Australia. It is run by our partners BA Creative.

Jaguar XJ6 Series One With Black Steelies

Jaguar XJ6 Series One – Sir William Lyon’s Masterpiece

The Jaguar XJ6 has not always been loved and has not always been regarded as a bone fide classic. But that is changing – fast. A look at the values of these low slung beauties shows that they are on the up.

You often hear that the first version of a particular model is the most collectible and this couldn’t be more true of the XJ6. The Series One from 1968 to 1973 is without doubt the one to have. It was the version that was truest to Jaguar supremo Sir William Lyon’s genius vision and it was launched before Jaguar was absorbed into the horrendous monolith of UK car manufacturing British Leyland.

So, the XJ6 Series One is a beauty and a fascinating car. But, like we always say, there isn’t a car built that can’t be improved by a set of black steelies, and this photo proves it. PS. Lowering it helps too!

To see how this beautiful Jaguar really looks without the Photoshopped lowering job here is and image of taken in the car park of BA Creative a web design agency in Brisbane.
